50 RIVERS UPDATE: This fall we paddled River #24, the St. George, in Maine, and #25, the glorious Upper Iowa. More at River Journal. I was recently stumped by a student question: "What is your favorite river?" Still pondering...

From Washington state to Maine, from Tennessee to Baja, Mexico, I've visited hundreds of students and faculty members and been continually inspired by the wit, tenacity, and dedication of our teachers. Thank you ALL for being there steadfastly, every single day, believing in these kids despite increasing challenges. Know that your web of love and concern spreads across the country. Without your sustained and downright dogged commitment, all is lost. Thank you over and over.
