Debra keeps a camera in her studio during the long process of making her books. These pictures are transformed into highly visual presentations that include the search for ideas, the writing and editorial process, journal techniques, and how art can inform writing projects.
A master storyteller, Debra presents to both students and adults with a strong emphasis on process. Her talk on creativity for adults, The Country of Lost, has received standing ovations from architects, potters, writers, other artists, and educators.

Before Debra arrives each school receives two curriculum notebooks filled with reproducibles, vintage posters for display and DVDs of Debra's on-line videos. These notebooks support the set of Debra Frasier books that also arrive in the planning kit box.
Debra: It is very important that the Author Day visit ripple across the years to come so I invest a lot of time and expense to see that each school has a hard copy of the materials available on my website, as well as a collection of book posters and postcards. My mission is to give a school inspiration to establish their own Book Events. Hundreds of schools now host their own Miss Alaineus Vocabulary Parades, Fabulous Fair Alphabet Carnivals, On the Day You Were Born interview book displays, or Birthday Wall installations. All the tools to start your own Book Event will be in your faculty's library at the close of this Author Visit.
